Lots of Layers at Midweek Magnolias

Happy Wednesday, Friends! I am here with a Midway Reminder for Midweek Magnolias challenge. You still have another week to join us for...

Lots of Layers!

My card features “Tilda with Christmas Candle” from the 2012 Christmas Story collection. I added lots of layers by using double matted designer paper panels by My Mind’s Eye Vintage Christmas, multiple layers of lace and a pretty frame for Tilda cut with my Cameo.

I used a bit of bling and glitter on several elements for that festive holiday look. Tilda is colored with Copics and soft golden hue shadowing for the background. Her Santa cap has Glossy Accents sprinkled with Glamour Dust on the fur for dimension. I used some gold stickles on the buttons of her trousers and a little red stickles on the candelabra.

"W"ednesday with Bella on Bauble

Happy “W”ednesday, Friends! It’s time for a new “W”ednesday post at Magnolia-licious. These cards and projects feature the new stamp lines Wee Stamps, Wild Rose Studio, Penny Black, and Candibeans now carried by the Magnolia-licious store.

My card today highlights my favorite Wild Rose Studio stamps called Bella. My grandmother was a collector of elephant figurines and décor items so I have grown to love elephants and these adorable stamps remind me of her.

I colored this cute “Bella on Bauble” stamp and cut her out so I could use a Spellbinders frame background. I heat embossed the bauble after coloring it with Copics to give it a lovely sparkle then I decoupaged Bella on the Bauble.

I cut lots of Magnolia Sprawling fern leaves for a Christmas tree branch effect. Then I ran some satin thread through Bella’s hand and the bauble to make it appear as though she is hanging from the tree.

Supplies:
Stamps – Wild Rose Studio: Bella on Bauble
DPs/Cardstock – Wild Rose Studio: Xmas Bella Collection; Bazzill and Archiver’s cardstock
Dies – Magnolia: So Wrapped Swirly Folded Tag, Christmas Lace, Sprawling Ferns; Spellbinders: Opulent Ovals; Tim Holtz/Sizzix: Holly Garland; Marianne Designs: Holly Branches, Chinese Rose; Cameo: Poinsettias by alittlehut.com
Ribbon/Lace – WOC; White Lace, Moss Green and Lilac Vintage Seam Binding
Other – Ranger: Buttercup Liquid Pearls, Lavender and Xmas Red Stickles; Viva Décor: Carmine Pearl Pen; Martha Stewart: Charoite Glitter; Sparkle N Sprinkle: Red Apple and Fire Cracker Embossing Powder; Sparkly Fluff: Sugar; Michaels: Red Rhinestone

Anything Goes at Magnolia-licious

Hello, Friends. I’m back with some inspiration to share with you for our new challenge at Magnolia-licious and our theme this time is truly the easiest challenge ever…

Anything Goes!

My card features Afternoon Tea Tilda and her Afternoon Tea Bench from the NEW Little London collection. I distressed my Pion papers with my Zutter Distress-it-all, sponged it with Frayed Burlap then I added some Texturez Shimmerpaintz around the edges. I love the sparkly texture effect it gives the card.

I used a few new items on my card. The Teapot die cut is from Elizabeth Craft Designs which I've had for some time and now have the perfect theme to use it with my Magnolia stamped image. I added a pretty flower button for my bow and I can’t forget the darling teapot charm, it’s so vintage yet elegant. I also made a few of my own flowers for this card.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda colored with Copics and a little Glossy Accents for her teacup.

There are lots of new items in the Magnolia-licious store. Diana has added new stamps from Wee Stamps, Wild Rose Studio, Penny Black and Candibeans stamps. She has also added a bunch of new Poppy Stamps dies too.

Midweek Magnolias - Song Birds

Happy Wednesday, Friends! We at Midweek Magnolias are back with a new challenge and our theme this fortnight is...

Song Birds!

We want to see those lovely creations that are inspired by a song but NOT Happy Birthday.

The song that inspired me to create this card is “I Put a Spell on You” performed by Bette Midler from the movie, Hocus Pocus. If you've never seen this movie it is a Halloween comedy treat. A Disney film from 1993 and it still makes me laugh. I've included a short clip from the movie of the song at the end of the post for you viewing enjoyment.

My card features “Witch Tilda” from the Magnolia So Spooky collection. She is colored with Copics and I paper pieced her dress from one of my Doodlebug Design papers. Then I shaded the dress with warm grey Copics.

I had lots of fun picking out papers, die cuts and ghoulish embellies for my Halloween card.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda.

Supplies:
Stamps – Magnolia: Witch Tilda
Ink – Memento: Rich Cocoa; Ranger: Black Soot DI
Papers/Cardstock – Doodlebug Design: Haunted Manor collection; Bazzill cardstock
Dies – La-La-Land Crafts: Scary Tree; Martha Stewart: Wrought Iron Bat fence, Spider Web border; EK Success: Circle Punch.
Other – Martha Stewart: Pumpkins and Bats stickers; Tall Mouse Cre8tive Artz: Orange Glitter Webbing; Stash: Spider Web
Copic Colors – Skin: E35, E11, E00, E000, R20, R30. Hair: C7, C2. Hat/ Shoes/ Broom: C7, C5, C4, C2, V17, V15, V12, YR23, Y15, Y13, E29, E25, E31, E50. Shading: W5, W3, W0.

I hope my card inspires you to join us for the challenge. Now here's a short clip from the movie, Hocus Pocus.

Magnolia-licious - Shape It Up!

Hello, Friends. I’m back with some inspiration to share with you for a new challenge at Magnolia-licious and our theme this time is…

Shaped Cards!

So nothing square, only shaped projects qualify.

I used a Go Kreate die for my card shape featuring Autumn Tilda with Pencils from the 2012 Turning Leaves collection. I went with one of my very favorite color combos, blue and orange. I’m not a real fan of orange but I just love it with blue or turquoise.

I stitched the edges of my cardstock and DP panels which was really challenging for this shape but I like how it turned out. I added some distressing, Frantage and lots of layers with my tags and lace elements.

Here’s a close-up of Tilda colored with Copics in blue and orange with a bit of brown. I had some fun with the sentiment which I created in Photoshop to fit with my school/love theme.

Supplies:
Stamps – Magnolia: Autumn Tilda with Pencils, Sentiment created on my PC.
Papers – Magnolia: Tuning Leaves collection; The Paper Co.: Kraft cardstock
Dies – Magnolia: So Wrapped Lovely Heart Folded Tag, Bloomy Tag, Tilda Lace, Tea Label Tag; Go Kreate: Frilly; Spellbinders: Oval and Scalloped Oval; Marianne Designs: Chinese and English Roses
Ribbon/Lace – Martha Stewart: Flower Lace; WOC: Vintage Seam binding in Peach, Danish Blue and Oloroso; Royal Lace: Heart Doily
Flowers – Wild Orchid Crafts
Ink – Memento: Black; Ranger: Distress Ink in Weathered Wood
Other – Ranger: Liquid Pearls in Ocean blue, Walnut Stain DI; Viva Decor: Orange Pearl Pen; Stampendous: Aged Ochre Frantage.
Copic Colors – Skin: E35, E11, E00, E000, R20, R30. Hair: E37, E35, E33, E53. Apparel/Other: B06, B04, B01, YR07, YR04, YR02, E35, E53, E51, C5, C2, B000, B0000, Colorless Blender.

There are lots of new items in the Magnolia-licious store. Diana has added new stamps from Wee Stamps, Wild Rose Studio, Penny Black and Candibeans stamps. She has also added a bunch of new Poppystamps dies too. I hope you get a chance to go take a look.

Don’t forget to leave a comment on any of the DT blogs and/or the Challenge blog for a chance to win a weekly prize. The more comments you leave, the greater your chance to win. The winner is announced every week during the “W”ednesday post.

I hope I've inspired you to join us for the challenge. You’ll have a chance to win a prize from Magnolia-licious if you follow along with the rules and theme.
